Our Story

The story of LACBC goes back almost a 100 years ago. In the 1930's, a small Hispanic church started in the Los Angeles Area. Through the years, the church became an influential, historic Hispanic Baptist church in the LA area, eventually acquiring the name, Los Angeles City Baptist Church. Through much of this time, Pastor Jorge Moran served as the senior pastor for more than 40+ years. After he went home to be with the Lord, the church went through a difficult transition for about 7 years, and eventually needed revitalization.

In 2018, Pastor Min Lee visited on a Wednesday meeting and was spontaneously asked by a church member to lead the church in a hymn (in Spanish!!)... Then a casual Bible study, then a Sunday Sermon, and then some more. Eventually the church officially invited him to serve as their lead pastor and we've been journeying together ever since.

Our hope is to bring the Gospel of Jesus to the multicultural generation of Los Angeles.
